Germination Instructions

1. Place the seeds in a heat-proof container and pour hot water over them (no hotter than 110°F). Allow the water to cool naturally and soak the seeds for 24–48 hours.
2. Drain the seeds and place them in a plastic bag filled with moist peat moss or vermiculite. Poke a few small holes in the bag for air circulation.
3. Refrigerate the bag for approximately 90 days. This cold stratification helps break seed dormancy. Some seeds may begin producing small roots during this period.
4. Fill 4-inch pots with quality potting mix. Sow the seeds about 3/8 inch deep and gently cover with soil.
5. Water thoroughly until the soil is evenly moist. Allow the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings to prevent rot.
6. Place the pots in a bright location with light shade. Seedlings typically emerge within 1–2 weeks after stratification. Use a humidity dome to help maintain consistent moisture during germination.
