Paperbark Maple Tree Seeds (Acer griseum) produce one of the most attractive ornamental maple trees available, prized for its striking cinnamon-brown peeling bark, brilliant fall color, and year-round landscape appeal. Native to China, this slow-growing deciduous tree develops a rounded shape and makes an excellent specimen tree for gardens, parks, and residential landscapes.

The Paperbark Maple typically reaches 20 to 30 feet tall with an equal spread, making it ideal for smaller yards and ornamental plantings. Its trifoliate leaves emerge green in spring, remain attractive throughout summer, and turn shades of orange, scarlet, and red during autumn.

Seeds require a hot water treatment to soften the seed coat, followed by 60–90 days of warm stratification and 90–120 days of cold stratification to improve germination. Once established, Paperbark Maple trees are hardy, adaptable, and highly valued for their unique exfoliating bark and outstanding seasonal interest.
